If you ask most people what the greatest reward was in their life, many will say it came from taking their biggest risk. Women have a different propensity and appetite for risk than men – in general women take fewer calculated risks in their careers than men do. Speaking the language of risk means women will increasingly tap into the power and ability to shape their own destinies in their career journey as they turn risks into opportunity. Women’s choice to take more risks, to turn those risks into opportunities, will give them cause for celebration. Women aren’t waiting for someone else to grant them permission to take a risk. We have to give ourselves permission.
